    Serves 15

    Preparation time: 20 minutes
    Cooking time: 8 minutes

    Ingredients
    1 cup SPLENDA® Granular
    1 tbsp arrowroot or cornstarch
    1 tsp ground nutmeg
    7 egg yolks
    4 cups milk
    2 cups low fat milk
    2 tbsp vanilla extract

    Note: for an alcoholic touch, add 1 cup dark rum in place of the 2 tbsp of vanilla extract. Not included in nutritional analysis.

    Method:

    1. Mix together first 3 ingredients in a large heavy saucepan. Set aside.
    2. Whisk egg yolks; add to SPLENDA® Granular mixture whisking until blended. Gradually whisk in milk.
    3. Cook over low heat, whisking constantly until the temperature reaches 80°C, approximately (5 to 8 minutes). Remove from heat and whisk in milk; cool.

    Banana & strawberry smoothie

    Banana and Strawberry Smoothie

     

    Makes 2 servings

    1 large firm ripe banana
    2 SPLENDA® Low Calorie Sweetener Sachets
    3/4 Cup reduced fat milk
    1 1/4 Cups (185g) frozen unsweetened strawberries

    Combine all ingredients in the jar of a blender. Blend on medium speed until smooth. Pour into glasses and enjoy.

    Preparation Time: 20 Minutes

    3 thin slices peeled fresh ginger
    3 SPLENDA® Sachets
    12 black peppercorns
    3 whole cloves
    2 cardamom pods
    1 (3-inch) cinnamon stick
    2 (500 ml) cups water
    2 Darjeeling tea bags
    1/2 cup (125 ml) reduced-fat milk

     

    1. Combine first 7 ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to boil. Remove from heat.
    2. Add teabags, cover and steep 5 minutes.
    3. Remove spices and tea bags with a slotted spoon and discard.
    4. Add milk and cook over medium heat until thoroughly heated. Do not boil. Serve immediately.

    Exotic Fruits Smoothie

    Exotic Fruits Smoothie

     

    Serves 4

    Preparation Time: 15 minutes

    Ingredients
    2 mangoes, flesh scooped out
    Juice of 2 grapefruit
    2 kiwifruit, peeled and cut in halves
    4 passionfruit, cut in halves and the pulp scooped out
    1 tablespoon SPLENDA® Granular
    Ice cubes

    Garnish: 4 lime slices

    Method:

    1. Blend kiwifruit, mango flesh, passionfruit, grapefruit juice and SPLENDA® Granular until smooth. Use a strainer to make the texture smoother.
    2. Crush some ice cubes and place into four glasses.
    3. Pour the smoothie into glasses.
    4. Garnish with lime slices on the glass edge.
    5. Serve immediately.

    Serves 10

    Ingredients

    1 punnet strawberries
    2 oranges
    1/2 rockmelon
    1/2 honeydew melon
    2 passionfruit
    2 litres cold carbonated plain mineral water
    1 cup SPLENDA® Granular

    STEP 1:
    Remove hulls from strawberries. Remove skins from oranges and segment. Remove skin from rockmelon and honeydew melon. Chop all fruit. Remove pulp from passionfruit.

    STEP 2:
    Combine all fruit in a large jug and mix with mineral water and SPLENDA® Granular. Serve chilled with lots of ice.

    Homemade Lemonade

    Homemade Lemonade

     

    Yields 2 1/2 litres

    Ingredients

    8-10 lemons
    1 cup SPLENDA® Granular
    2 litres water

    STEP 1:
    Wash lemons. Peel the rind from the lemons using a vegetable peeler.

    STEP 2:
    Place the rind, SPLENDA® Granular and water in a saucepan. Bring to the boil, then simmer for 5 minutes. Cool and strain.

    STEP 3:
    Squeeze the juice from lemons then combine with the syrup. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours.

    STEP 4:
    Serve lemonade as is, or add extra iced water to taste.

    Preparation time: 10 minutes

    2 Sachets SPLENDA® Low Calorie Sweetener
    3 tablespoons cocoa
    2 cups low fat milk

    Mix together SPLENDA® Low Calorie Sweetener and cocoa in a small saucepan. Gradually add milk, whisking until blended.

    Cook over medium-low heat until thoroughly heated. Serve immediately.

    Note: For mint flavoured hot chocolate, add a drop of mint extract to the mixture before heating. For mocha hot chocolate, add 2 teaspoons instant coffee granules to the milk before heating.

    Preparation Time: 15 minutes

    Ingredients
    2 limes cut into slices
    1 tablespoon or 2 teabags mint tea
    1 sprig of thyme
    1 tablespoon of sliced ginger
    1 litre boiling water
    1 tablespoon SPLENDA® Granular
    lots of ice

    Garnish: 4 lime slices

    Method:

    1. Put mint tea, thyme, ginger and lime slices into a teapot. Add SPLENDA® Granular.
    2. Fill teapot with boiling water.
    3. Cover and steep 10 – 15 minutes. Strain the mixture.
    4. Add ice and stir well to let it cool down.
    5. Pour into four glasses, add garnish and more ice at discretion.
    6. Serve immediately.

    Ingredients
    ½ cup SPLENDA® Granular
    ½ cup water
    1 large ripe mango
    ¼ cup lemon or lime juice
    ¼ cup mango liqueur
    ½ cup Bacardi or white rum
    lots of ice

    Method:

    1. Combine SPLENDA® Granular and water.
    2. Scoop mango flesh into a blender.
    3. Add SPLENDA® mixture, lemon juice, rum, mango liqueur and lots of ice.
    4. Blend until the ice is finely crushed. Serve immediately in cocktail glasses.

    RECIPE TIPS

    • Use very ripe mangoes for the best flavour.

    2 ruby red grapefruit, halved
    2 oranges, halved
    4 tsp SPLENDA® Granular
    1 cup chilled mineral water or soda water


    Directions:

    1. Using hand juicer, squeeze juice from grapefruit and oranges. Pour into pitcher or large glass measuring cup; whisk in SPLENDA® Granular until dissolved.
    2. Pour into ice-filled glasses; top with mineral water

    Preparation Time: 5 Minutes

    1 cup fresh lemon juice
    16 sachets SPLENDA® Low Calorie Sweetener
    5 cups cold water
    1 lemon squeezed

    1. Squeeze lemons over fine mesh strainer into measuring cup. Discard pulp.
    2. In large jug add lemon juice, SPLENDA® Low Calorie Sweetener and cold water. Stir. Add lemon slices.
    3. Pour into chilled glasses over ice.

    Lime Variation: Simply replace fresh lemon juice and slices with fresh limes.

    Note: This recipe can be sweetened to taste; just add more SPLENDA® Low Calorie Sweetener.
